a dangerous hunger situation in a F2F village

Preliminary data from a health and nutrition survey, created by Dr. Anu Anandaraja of Mount Sinai Hospital, in Nyamba Village, one of our new villages who asked F2F to help them benefit from home victory gardens.

Over 65% of families in the village had experienced one or more times when members of their families went to sleep hungry and without food in the past 30 days.

37% of families had experienced the death of a child under age 15.

Those 37% of families experienced the death of on average 2 children per family.

Nyamba village now has over 60% of its families having victory gardens, with the aim to reach as close to 100% as possible. We expect with more food and better nutrition, these stark statistics will soon be a thing of the past.
